East Ridge Pool Pooch Party

The East Ridge Pool is hosting its 4th Annual Pooch Pool Party on September 28th. The party has been pushed back from the traditional Labor Day date to the end of the month.

Four-legged friends can come to the pool party from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Admission is $5 per dog. Humans are free.

There is an Olympic pool for big dogs and two smaller wading pools for little dogs.

Money raised from the event benefits the East Ridge Youth Foundation.

Important things to note before the big party:
  • All dogs must remain leashed while on the pool deck and display current rabies and ID tag on collar.
  • Owners must clean up after their dogs—bags will be provided.
  • Handlers must sign a waiver at check-in on the day of the event.

3rd Annual Putt for Pets Golf Classic

When: Sunday, September 21. 9 AM – registration opens. 10:00 AM – shotgun start
Where: Brainerd Golf Club. 5203 Old Mission Road
How Much: $80/Individual (includes 18-holes of golf, beverages & lunch)

Hole-in-One Wins A New Lexus!!!

Putting Contest – $5,000 CASH PRIZE! Putting contest takes place concurrently with tournament. $5/1 chance, $10/3 chances. Qualifying for the Putting Contest is anytime between 10 AM and 2:30 PM. Finals held at 3 PM. You do not have to be in the tournament to compete in the putting contest.

Proceeds benefit the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Doggie Paddle at Hamilton YMCA

Another Doggie Paddle event will be held at the Hamilton YMCA Outdoor Pool on Saturday, September 6th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Cost is $10/per dog. The outdoor pool is located at the site of the former Turner Club and is about 2 blocks from the Hamilton YMCA building which is located at 7430 Shallowford Road. Get your pooch their very own goody bags (while supplies last)!

Pooch Pool Party Etiquette:
  • Owners must accompany their dogs. It is recommended 1 adult for every 2 dogs.
  • Only dogs and owners allowed in pool.
  • Dogs must be on leash when outside pool area.
  • Dogs must display current rabies and ID tag on collar.
  • Owners must clean up after their dog. Bags will be provided.
  • Children should not be left unattended.
  • Bring your own towel and chair.
  • Aggressive dogs (and people) will be asked to leave.
  • Come prepared to get wet and have fun!

Humane Educational Society's Extreme Makeover

Calling all artists!
Are you an artist and an animal lover? The Humane Educational Society needs you! HES is going cageless and they need your help with their extreme makeover! Feature your artwork on their brand new glass dens.

Each glass den is held together with cement block and they want YOU to paint the block with exciting and colorful designs! Submit pictures of your artwork and ideas to be considered for this exciting makeover to hesvolunteer@comcast.net.
They are fortunate to have the artwork of volunteer Mike Holsomback in their newly refurbished lobby. He is also creating exciting muriels in their soon to be opened educational center. Join Mike and the HES staff as they enter into a new era for homeless animals in Hamilton County! Help create a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere for their animals and potential adopters!

Make the Humane Educational Society look better than ever to bring in adopters for Hamilton County's homeless animals.

When: Saturday, August 23rd, 2pm - Midnight
Where: Downtown Chattanooga Riverfront (on the pier and Ross' Landing)
How Much: $13 in advance, $15 at the gate (all proceeds benefit Chattanooga Kids on the Block)
